Game Notes
The UC Riverside women’s basketball team punched its ticket to the Big West Conference Tournament Championship game on Saturday, Mar. 13 after a 54-51 win over Cal Poly on Friday in the semifinals.
The Highlanders head to their third championship game in the last five years, as the team won the tournament in the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.
UC Davis defeated UC Santa Barbara in the semifinals on Friday to advance to the championship game. The Aggies and Highlanders split of pair of games in the 2009-10 regular season, with each team winning on their home court by four points.
If the Highlanders win in the championship game, they will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the Big Dance. With a loss, UCR will still head to postseason play, earning a second straight WNIT bid.
