El Paso, TX—The UC Riverside Highlanders (4-3) set several school records in an 11-0 win over Prairie View A&M at the University of Texas, El Paso Friday.
Among the records set by the Highlanders were goals (11), shots, (66), and assists (6). PVAM (0-4) had 23 saves.
The Highlanders opened the scoring in the seventh minute on a header by Renee Scachetti, the first of seven first period goals. The Highlanders added four in the second half.
Allison Stone led the Highlanders with five points, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Vanessa Chanez, Tracy Schuster and Erin Fahres also scored twice each. Kelly Hurley and Jessica Armel also scored goals for UCR, with Hurley adding two assists.
Fahres also set an individual school record with 12 shots in the contest, seven on goal.
The Highlanders posted their third straight shutout, a combined effort of Kristin Cocks and Katie Blank, who split time in net.
The Highlanders play Stephan F. Austin on Sunday.

The Highlanders struck in the 40th minute on an unassisted goal for Jessica Armel, her third of the year, from the top of the box. Tracy Shuster's first goal of the season added insurance in the 51st minute off an assist by Tanya Noonan. UCR outshot the Eagles, 10-7 in the game.
Cocks had three saves while Eastern Washington 'keeper Katie Grothkopp had five saves.
The Highlanders return to action on Friday against Prarie View A&M in a tournament in El Paso, Texas with a game time of 3:00 PM.
