Women's Golf Falls To Fifth After Second Round At Conference Championships

San Luis Obispo, CA - The UC Riverside women's golf team dropped back into a tie for fifth place on Monday afternoon after the second round of play at the Big West Conference Championships at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
After firing a first-round 317, the Highlanders shot a 321 second-round score for a 638 total, tying them with Cal State Northridge for fifth place.
Cal Poly leapfrogged both UCR and CSUN after its 309 second-round score to bring them to a 633 two-day total to grab hold of fourth place.
No. 31 ranked UC Davis continues to lead the pack with a 597 tally, while Long Beach State and No. 40 UC Irvine are second and third respectively with 611 and 612 totals.
Individually for the Highlanders, Amelia Ek dropped out of the top-10 with a second round 81 after opening with a 75, and is currently tied for 14th with a 156 total.
Alexandra Erdman shot a second-round 81 after shooting 78 the day before, and is tied for 18th place. Natalie Guidry (pictured) lowered her second-round score to a 78 after starting with an 84; she is in 24th place with a 162.
Rounding out the scores for UCR are Denyse Neville (84-81=165) and Tiffany Koyano (80-86=166), who are tied for 27th and 29th place respectively.
UC Davis' Chelsea Stelzmiller is the individual clubhouse leader with a three-over-par 147.
The Big West Conference Championship concludes with a final 18-hole round on Tuesday, Apr. 20. The Highlanders are paired with Cal State Fullerton and tee off hole No. 10 starting at 8:00 am.
