
Tessa Lennala Wins Second Weekly Big West Conference Award

Irvine, CA—Junior forward Tessa Lennala was named the Big West Conference’s Co-Player of the Week, for the second time this season, after her performance this past weekend. Sharing the honor with Lennala is UC Irvine freshman forward Tanya Taylor.
Lennala began here award-winning weekend on Friday, as she scored UCR’s only goal in a 1-1 tie with Pacific. Sunday, against UC Davis, Lennala scored the game-winner in the second overtime, giving the Highlanders a 2-1 victory.
The junior from Chaparral HS in Temucula is the only player in the Big West Conference to win the player of the week award more than once this season. With eight goals on the season, Lennala is tied for second place on UCR’s goals in a season list. She trails only Renee Scachetti, who holds the record with 13 goals.
