Cunningham Named Big West Honorable Mention, Thomsen Named Freshman of the Year

UCR junior guard Larry Cunningham was named Honorable Mention All-Big West and freshman forward Henrik Thomsen was named Big West Freshman of the Year, the conference announced Monday.
Thomsen (Gundsømagle, Denmark) is the second Highlander to earn the honor, following in the footsteps of former Highlander Nate Carter, who earned the award in 2003. Thomsen leads all Big West freshmen in scoring at 10.7 points per game, second best on the team. He has reached double-figure scoring 16 times and has three 20-point games.
Cunningham (Downey, CA) leads the Highlanders in scoring at 13.5 points per game and shot a career-high 43.8% from the field this season. He has 19 double-figure scoring games, including each of the last 11 games, and a pair of double-doubles this season. In his career he has 993 points. It is the first All-Conference honor for Cunningham.
