Jose Diaz, Aaron Long Named To 2012 NCAA Division I All-Far West Region Teams

Riverside—The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released its 2012 NCAA Division I Men All-Far West Region Teams today, and UC Riverside's Jose Diaz was named to the Second Team, while Aaron Long earned a Third Team nod.

Diaz and Long were both named All-Big West earlier this year as the Highlanders set program Division I era records for wins (10), goals (37) and assists (40) this season.

Diaz had three scores on the year, all off of penalty kicks, and two which were game winners. The first decisive score came in the season-opening victory over Marist (box score/recap), and the second was in the Highlanders October 17 win over UC Irvine (box score/recap/video highlights).

Long led the Highlanders in goals, with six, and points, with 13. His header in the second overtime at UNLV was the game-winner in a 4-3 victory (box score/recap) which saw UCR runs its record to 5-0 on the season.
