Men's Soccer: Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sports Of The Month

Riverside—Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with the UC Riverside Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and chosen the UCR Men's Soccer Team (at least those players who are of age) as the September recipients of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sports of the Month." A team effort has guided the Highlanders to a 4-0 start to the 2012 season—the best start in the team's 12-year Division I history.
UCR began the year with consecutive shutouts, blanking Marist, 3-0 (box score/recap), and Iona, 1-0 (box score/recap), on August 24 and 26 respectively. The Highlanders then defeated Detroit, 2-1 (box score/recap), on August 31 before unloading for a 4-0 win over Long Island on September 2 (box score/recap).
UC Riverside has outscored its opponents 10-1 while posting three shutouts, with eight different players entering the scoring column. The Highlanders have been steadily climbing the national polls, and as of September 5, are ranked 32nd in the nation.
