El Paso, TX—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team traveled to the University of Texas El Paso Friday evening, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Miners (Box Score).
UTEP's Jade Babcock and Azia Nicholson provided all of the offense for the Miners as Babcock turned a pair of Nicholson passes into scores. The first came in the 24th minute as Babcock beat UC Riverside keeper Elizabeth Silas.
It remained a 1-0 match into halftime, but with just over two minutes gone in the second period, UTEP doubled up the score thanks to Babcock's third goal of the season.
The Highlanders remain on the road this weekend as they travel to New Mexico State for a Sunday meeting at 12 pm PT.
