Highlanders Host Spark Of Love Toy Drive Saturday At Basketball Double Header

Riverside—The UC Riverside Men's & Women's Basketball Teams are teaming up with ABC7 and Southern California Firefighters this Saturday, December 20 for the 21st year of the "Spark of Love Toy Drive."

Fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys or sports equipment at this weekend's double header—Men's Basketball vs. Houston Baptist at 1 pm PT, and Women's Basketball vs. Washington at 5 pm. The toys will then be taken to local fire stations, where firefighters will distribute the gifts to under-served children in the community.

Donations of any size help ABC7 and the Southland's firefighters make a difference in a child's life during the holidays. All net proceeds will go to buying toys or sports equipment for children.

If you can't make it to Saturday's double header, but would still like to participate in the "Spark of Love Toy Drive," you may drop off presents at any Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura county fire station.

With help from "Spark of Love Toy Drive" donors, partners and sponsors, more than 500,000 toys were collected last year.
