Vilter Named Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport Of The Month

Riverside—Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with the UC Riverside Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and chosen baseball player Nick Vilter as its April recipient of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month." Vilter batted .315 in 16 games during the month of March recording 17 hits, scoring two runs, pounding out two doubles, hitting five home runs, and driving in 20 RBI while slugging .630 with an on base percentage of .451.
The junior infielder helped the Highlanders to a 9-7 record including a series sweep over Bakersfield on March 1-2 in which he blasted three homers and drove in a combined 11 RBI during the three games.
For his efforts, Vilter was named College Sports Madness National Field Player of the Week on March 4 as he hit .455 with a .684 on base percentage and a 1.274 slugging percentage (read the release).
