Women's Soccer Outshoots Aggies 19-7, Sunday But Falls, 1-0

Logan, UT—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team outshot Utah State 19-7 Sunday afternoon, including 6-3 in shots on goal, but it was the Aggies who converted late in the first to escape with the 1-0 victory (box score).

It was a 10-5 UCR (4-2-2) shot advantage in the first, but one of the final shots of the period came off the foot of Lexie Morgan in the 42nd minute. Erin Rickenbach found Morgan who fought her way through the a cluster of defenders for her third score of the season.

The Highlanders owned the play in the second half as well, outshooting Utah State 9-2, while taking six corner kicks to none for the Aggies. Despite UC Riverside's best efforts, however, Jeannie Woller and the rest of the Utah State (4-3-1) defense was able to keep the Highlanders out of the back of the net.

UCR returns home this Friday for a 7 pm PT meeting with Duquesne.
