Volleyball Battles #10 Hawai'i, But Falls 3-0

Riverside-The UC Riverside Volleyball Team was looking to upset the number 10 team in the nation Saturday evening at the SRC Arena, but it was Hawai'i who came away with the 3-0 victory.
The Highlanders (6-10, 1-2) hung tough with the Rainbow Wahine (14-1, 4-0) in the first, trailing by three, 15-12, but Hawai'i scored 10 of the final 15 points to secure the set.
The second set followed an almost identical path as UH led 15-11 before scoring 10 of the final 14 points for the victory.
The Rainbow Wahine closed out the match by taking control of the third set early en route to a 25-5 win.
Fabiana Rosas led the Highlanders offensive attack with 10 kills while Nikki Taylor led Hawai'i with 14.
UC Riverside travels to Long Beach State Tuesday, October 6 and UC Irvine Saturday, October 10 for 7 pm PT matches against the 49ers and Anteaters.
