Riverside—The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its All-Region Teams Thursday afternoon, and UC Riverside had a program record three players named to the All-West Region squads, including the Highlanders' first-ever, First-Team recipient in senior defender Amber Marani. Junior midfielder Blanca Barrio and senior forward Tyler Cunningham each earned Third-Team, All-Region accolades.

Marani, who was a Second-Team, All-West Region honoree a year ago, anchored a UC Riverside defense that allowed a goals against average of 0.93 in 2015. The Highlanders were just as stingy in conference play, giving up just eight goals in eight matches, while pitching a pair of shutouts to close out the regular season. Marani was named to her second consecutive All-Big West, First-Team in November.
Barrio finishing second in the Big West in assists (7) and tied for fifth in points (17) during the regular season in picking up her first All-West Region award. Two of her scores on the season were game winners, and after just two seasons with the Highlanders, Barrio is already tied for second on the team's career assist chart. Earlier this year, she earned her second consecutive All-Big West nod.
Cunningham, who was a Second-Team, All-West Region honoree a year ago, finished the regular season ranked fifth in the Big West in goals (7) and tied for fifth in points (17). Four of her scores in 2015 were game winners. Early in the season she became the Highlanders career leader in assists, and she finished her career ranked third in goals and points as well. Cunningham was named to the Big West First Team this year after earning a spot on the Second Team as a sophomore and junior.
