Irvine, CA—The Big West today named UC Riverside guard Annelise Ito the Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played March 2-8.

This is the first player of the week award of the year for Ito who ranks sixth the Big West in scoring averaging 13.9 points per game. Earlier Monday morning Ito was named to the Big West All-Conference Second Team for per outstanding performance on the court throughout the season.

In the Highlanders final games of the regular season, the Moraga native posted back-to-back, career-high 24 points against UC Davis and Long Beach State. The Highlanders took revenge against UC Davis on Senior Day, 61-56 after dropping their first meeting earlier this season. In UCR's second game of the week, the Highlanders fell to the 49ers 76-66.

Against the Aggies, Ito shot 11-of-19 from the floor and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. In the Highlanders final game of the regular season she drained 11 of her 18 shooting attempts, handing out four assists, two steals, and blocked one shot.

For the week, Ito shot 59.5 percent (22-37) from the field, averaging 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
