Box Score Santa Clara, CA—The UC Riverside Volleyball Team concluded a pair of weekend tournaments Saturday evening dropping a 3-0 decision to Santa Clara.

The Highlanders (2-2) battled the Broncos in the first set leading by as many as three points, the last time at 21-18. Santa Clara scored the next three points, but the Highlanders found themselves leading 23-22 thanks to a Chelsea Doyle kill. However two Broncos' kills and a UCR attack error handed the first set to host Santa Clara.

UC Riverside jumped out on top early again in the second set, and led by one at 16-15. After the Broncos scored four of the next six points to go up one, 19-18, the Highlanders went cold as Santa Clara rattled off six straight points for the win.

The Broncos controlled the third stanza from the outset en route to a 25-14 in the final set.

The Highlanders head to Portland Oregon next weekend for a match against Grand Canyon, and the Portland State/University of Portland Tournament.
