Fargo, ND—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team moved back over the .500 mark Sunday as they picked up a 1-0 road win at North Dakota State.
The victory improved the Highlanders to 6-5-0, and concluded the team's regular season, non-conference schedule.
Blanca Barrio provided UC Riverside with all the offense it would need in the 26th minute of play following a foul in the Bison defensive 18. She converted the subsequent penalty kick to put the Highlanders on top, 1-0.
North Dakota State pushed for the equalizer uncorking a dozen shots in the final 45 minutes of play, but the UC Riverside defense kept its net clean to record its fourth shutout of the season, and second in as many matches.

The Highlanders open Big West Conference play this week traveling to UC Irvine for a Sunday, 1 pm PT meeting with the Anteaters.
