Volleyball Finishes 1-2 At The Portland/Portland State Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Portland, OR - The UC Riverside Women's Volleyball Team moves to 3-4 on the season after dropping its final two games of the Portland/Portland State Tournament, Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders lost a hard battle to Nevada, 3-2 followed by a 3-0 loss to co-host Portland.

Fabiana Rosas led UCR in both matches hammering down 17 kills against Nevada, then topping that with 18, a career-high, against Portland. The Junior also notched back-to-back double-doubles adding 15 and 13 digs, respectively. Sophomore Alex Gresham added 10 kills in each match to aid in the Highlanders efforts.

Defensive specialist, Maddie Hubbell, contributed a career-high 35 digs in the Highlanders' nail-biter match against Nevada. Freshman Chelsea Doyle, added her own double-double to the stat column during the same match putting up 36 assists and 22 digs, marking her first double-double of the season.

UC Riverside will hit the court once again on Friday, September 11 as the particpate in the Fresno State Invitational. The Highlanders will start the tournament with a match against host, Fresno State at 11:30 am PT.
