First Half Scores Give UC Irvine 2-0 Victory Over Women's Soccer

Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team allowed two first-half goals Sunday evening dropping a 2-0 decision to visiting UC Irvine.
The Anteaters went up 1-0 in the ninth minute when Sammie James collected Noel Baham's cross from the right corner, and slotted it past UC Riverside goalkeeper Alanna Guzman (Corona, CA).
UC Irvine (9-4-1, 1-0-1) made it 2-0 with 4:49 to go in the first half as Grayson Galbraith stole the ball at midfield, and found Lili Andino for her fifth goal of the season.
The Highlanders (3-7-3, 0-2-0) outshot the 'Eaters 9-7 on the night, but couldn't find a way past Irvine keeper Maddie Mewsom and the Anteater's defense.
UC Riverside heads out on the road for the next three matches beginning with a Thursday, October 6 match in Hawai'i. Kick off is scheduled for 10 pm PT
