Simone DeCoud Named Big West Player Of The Week

Irvine, CA–The Big West conference announced this afternoon that UC Riverside Women's Basketball point guard Simone DeCoud was named Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
This week's honor is the first of DeCoud's career, as well as the first for the Highlanders this season.
DeCoud, a Riverside native and John W. North High School alum, tallied 12 points, pulled down six boards, and dished out a team-high seven assists, while picking up a season-high four steals in the Highlanders mid-week victory, 71-66, at CSU Bakersfield (box score / recap).
On Saturday at LMU, she nailed the game-winning three-pointer with just 0.5 to play. She poured in 19 points, collected 8 caroms, nabbed 3 steals, and got up to block two shots in the, 75-72, win (box score / recap).
DeCoud was also named Collegiate Sports Madness Big West Player of the Week today.
