Irvine—This afternoon, the Big West conference named Brittany Crain Women's Basketball Player of the Week. This week's award is the eighth of her career, and the seventh-most in conference history.
The senior from Moreno Valley averaged 22 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals in leading the team to a 2-0 week, with wins over UC Davis (80-73) and CSUN (83-76). She also tied the schools all-time career mark for made three-pointers of 212, as well as helped the team continue to make history with an 8-0 start to conference play.
Her 20.0 points per game scoring average leads the Big West and ranks 30th in nation.
Crain joins teammate Rejane Verin in receiving the weekly honor a third time this season. In the history of Big West conference membership, UCR teammates had never received multiple conference honors in the same season. (all-time honorees)
