Irvine, CA—The Big West announced today that UC Riverside goalkeeper Vincent Morales is the conference's Defensive Player of the Week for matches played from August 29 through September 4, after posting his first shutout of the season against Santa Clara at the UNLV Johann Memorial Classic.

Morales ranks third in the conference in saves, third in goals against average and second in save percentage, and the Highlanders are 2-1-0 on the season..

This is the second such award for the redshirt junior who also was named Big West Defensive Player of the Year on September 14, 2015.
