Box Score Riverside—The UC Riverside Volleyball Team (9-8, 1-4) defeated Cal State Fullerton (4-14, 0-5) in four sets Saturday evening, picking up its first conference win of the season in the process.
SET ONE (25-23, CSF)
Key Runs: Neither team led by more than three points during the set with the last of seven ties coming at 21-21. The Titans scored four of the final six points to take the set.
SET TWO (25-12, UCR)
Key Runs: The Highlanders won the first five points and never trailed.
SET THREE (25-15, UCR)
Key Runs: Tied at six, the Highlanders scored the next four points to take the lead. They closed out the set scoring four straight, winning the set on a Nicole Rodriguez service ace.
SET FOUR (25-23, UCR)
Key Runs: The Highlanders trailed by six, 12-6, but scored six of the next eight points to climb back into the set. With the score tied at 23, UC Riverside closed out the set and the match thanks to a block assist by Yuliya Ushakova and Brooke Callahan, and a Titans attack error.
GAME NOTES
Mickayla Sherman led the Highlanders with 25 kills. That is the highest number of kills for a member of the Highlanders since Sherman collected 26 vs. UC Santa Barbara in October 14, 2016 (

recap).
Kaiulani Ahuna recorded double-digit kills for the tenth time this season, with a career-high 23. She also added 10 digs for her fifth kills-digs double-double of the year.
Chelsea Doyle recorded a career-high 60 assists. She now has 2,456 for her career and trails Laura Ratto ('01) by 107 for fifth place on the Highlanders career list.
Doyle added 16 digs for her ninth assists-digs double-double of the season.
