DeCoud, Curry And Holt Named Big West Honorable Mention, Lewis All-Freshman Team

Irvine, CA–The Big West Conference announced today that UC Riverside Women's Basketball players Simone DeCoud, Michelle Curry, and Lauren Holt were named All-Conference Honorable Mention, and Skyler Lewis was selected to the All-Freshman Team.

DeCoud, the 2012-13 Freshman of the Year and now a three-time, All-Big West honoree, averaged 11.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game this season. The senior point guard scored over 20 points three times in league play, including two of the last three contests. She ranks ninth on the Highlanders' all-time scoring list, and is second on the career assists charts.

Curry's 12.5 points per game in conference play ranked 11th overall in the Big West, and she averaged 17.6 points per game over her last nine games as.

On three occasions in conference play this season, the Los Angeles product erupted for 10 or more points in a quarter. The 2017 recognition is the second straight Honorable Mention award for the 2014-15 Freshman of the Year.

Holt averaged 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds a game this season, and notched five 20-plus scoring games, including three during league play. The Portland State transfer also knocked down three or more three-pointers in six conference games in 2017, while connecting at 39.3 percent clip—sixth-best in Big West play.

Lewis, a scored in double figures on five occasions, three times in Big West games, including a double-double with career highs of 15 points and 12 rebounds in a win against Hawai'i. The Grand Terrace, California native also rejected five shots in a victory over Cal State Fullerton—one of three games this year in which the junior finished with four or more blocks.

The Highlanders open the Big West Tournament in a Tuesday 6 pm tip-off against #8 UC Irvine at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach.
