Riverside—UC Riverside Head Women's Soccer Coach Nat Gonzalez announced today that the Highlanders have inked six players to national letters of intent for the 2017 season.
Jane Jordan
5-9 Defender Palm Desert, CA
Palm Desert High School
Coach Gonzalez on Jordan: "Jane comes to Riverside from Palm Desert, California. She brings a tenacity and competitiveness that is second to none! She will make her presence known right away with her ability to tackle, and win her fair share of aerial balls."
Miah Conde
5-5 Midfielder Murrieta, CA
Vista Murrieta High School
Coach Gonzalez on Conde: "Miah has a solid first touch and will help the Highlanders possess the ball. Her passing range from the midfield will give UCR forwards the ability to get behind defenses with confidence. Defensively, she has great timing in the air for ball winning."
Danielle Herrera
5-7 Goalkeeper Chino, CA
Bishop Amat High School
Coach Gonzalez on Herrera: "Dani will enter the 2017 season looking to compete and push the current goalkeeping corps. Dani has great feet and reads the game very well. She will develop into a quality goalkeeper for the Highlanders."
Elizabeth Martin-Gomez
5-4 Defender Petaluma, CA
Casa Grande High School
Coach Gonzalez on Martin-Gomez: "Elizabeth is a tenacious defender with a big personality. Her ability to strike the ball with precision will no doubt be a strength of the UCR attack. She will develop into a leader as she grows into her role as a defender for R'Side!"
Makenna Herrero
5-3 Midfielder Mentone, CA
Redlands East Valley High School
Coach Gonzalez on Herrero: "Makenna will have the ability to play multiple roles due to her athleticism and passing skill. She has a big engine with the ability to add to our attack or steady the defense. We look forward to seeing how Makenna will impact the Highlanders in 2017!"
Alexis Vera
5-5 Forward Chino Hills, CA
Chino Hills High School
Coach Gonzalez on Vera: "Alexis will come in to boost the Highlanders' attack as a forward. She is a high-level attacker with good dribbling ability. She will be a threat in the Big West with her speed and keen ability to finish."
