Maricopa, AZ–Haley Wian fired a three-under 69 in the final round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, while the UC Riverside Women's Golf Team held on for a fourth place finish at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. (

Wian's her four birdie-one bogey performance was one of just five rounds in the 60s in the entire tournament. She started the day tied for 39th, and catapulted herself up the leaderboard 26 spots into a tie for 13th–her best finish of the 2016-17 season.
The senior from Manhattan Beach, CA now has seven career rounds under par to her credit. She was just one stroke off her career-best round, a four-under 68 in the second round of the 2017 Battle at the Rock.
Jakeishya Le came into the final round tied for the lead, but had to settle for a top-5 result after making bogey on four of her final six holes–a stretch of holes (13-18) she played at -1 over the first two rounds.
The Highlanders, who began the day five shots back of front-running UC Irvine, shared the lead at +10 and +11 while players were on the front nine. UCR got a par or better showing from four of five players in their first nine holes, however in the second nine holes, just one player (Wian, E) shot better than two-over par.
UC Irvine shot the team round of the tournament, an ever par 288, to claim the team trophy.
Sacramento State's Julia Becker and Nevada's Kaitlin Collom tied for the individual title at -3.
Hannah Facchini, Julia Sander and Krista Twet will remain in Arizona through the weekend with Coach Ritchie to play the Bobcat Desert Invitational April 10-11.
The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team will defend their 2016 conference title on April 23-25 at Oak Quarry Golf Club as host of the
2017 Big West Championship.
