Riverside—The UC Riverside Athletics Department held its annual end-of-year Scotty Awards on Thursday evening, and Women's Soccer player Amanda Roy was named SAAC Female Freshman of the Year.

Roy played in 18 matches for the Highlanders, starting 15, and logged nearly every minute of match play once she broke into the starting line up. The first goal of her collegiate career was the game winner in a 1-0 victory over Cal Poly, and at year's end, Roy was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team.
