Furious Second-Half Comeback Falls Short As Men's Basketball Falls, 65-57 At UC Santa Barbara

Box Score Santa Barbara, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team (5-11, 0-2) fell behind by as many as 24 points at UC Santa Barbara (12-4, 1-1) before staging a furious comeback, but the Gauchos held on for a 65-57 victory.

KEY RUNS
The Gauchos scored 10 of the first 12 points, and extended their lead to as many as 19 in the first and 24 early in the second half. The Highlanders began chipping away at the lead thanks to their defense, holding UCSB to 23 percent shooting from the field in the second half, but UCR couldn't quite complete the comeback.

GAME NOTES
The Highlanders have never beaten UC Santa Barbara on the Gauchos home court (0-24).

Alex Larsson recorded his third double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds
