Annie Kniss-Feller was UC Riverside's first three-time All-American in volleyball, and earned NCAA Player of the Year honors in 1986. At the conclusion of the 1986-87 academic year, she was named UCR and CCAA Female Athlete of the Year. Kniss-Feller led the Highlanders to the 1985 NCAA Division II National Championship despite fracturing a bone in her foot in the semifinal match. After graduation, she played pro volleyball with the Los Angeles Starlites, helping them to the Professional Volleyball League title in 1987. Kniss-Feller has since gone coach in the collegiate ranks at Syracuse, Hawai'i, Santa Clara and San Jose State.
