UC Riverside Goalkeeper Charles Alamo Named Big West Player Of The Week

Irvine, CA—UC Riverside goalkeeper Charles Alamo was named Big West Player of the Week after posting two shutouts for the week ending 9/9/07.This is Alamo's second career Player of the Week award after earning the honor once last season.
Alamo recorded his 11th and 12th career shutouts in wins against #21 San Diego State on September 3 and Alabama A&M on September 9 as the Highlanders went 2-1 last week. The fifth-year senior captain made 12 saves of the 14 shots he faced during the three games last week as UCR improved to 3-1 on the young season.
UCR host San Jose State Friday at 3 p.m. for their first home game of the season on the new TigerTurf surface at the UCR Soccer Stadium.
