UCR's Lozano Named First-Team All-Big West Conference

The Big West Conference doled out its 2008 All-Conference honors Tuesday and named Highlanders junior defender David Lozano to the All-Conference First Team and senior midfielder Joel Crompton All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Lozano helped anchor the Highlanders defense this season while Crompton paced the team in scoring with eight goals and 17 points. Lozano joins Luc Harrington (2003, 2004) and Jordan Arias (2004) as the only Highlanders men's soccer players to be named to the All-Big West First-Team in UCR's eight-year affiliation with the conference. Crompton's eight goals were the most since the 2004 season when Harrington and Scott Barnett scored nine apiece.
