UC Riverside at Vanderbilt Game Notes
The UC Riverside women’s basketball team hits the road on Friday for their first away contest of the 2009-10 season at Vanderbilt at 5:00 pm PST. Live Audio. Live Stats
The Highlanders could not have chosen a better place to start than at Vanderbilt, though, since the Commodores will be looking to avenge last season’s 50-47 loss at UCR on Dec. 6, 2008. The Highlanders win against then-No. 16 Vandy last season marked the first time the women’s basketball program upset a ranked opponent in its nine-year Division I history.
Junior Alyssa Morris (pictured) currently leads the Highlanders averaging 18.3 points per game while shooting 45.0 percent from the floor.
