Men's Tennis Defeated 6-1 by Cal Poly to Open Big West Play

San Luis Obispo, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team opened up Big West Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a matchup against Cal Poly, but fell 6-1 to the Mustangs.
The Highlanders (3-6, 0-1) could not claim the doubles point and looked to pick up some wins in the singles matches, but John Park was the only Highlander to secure a win as he defeated Darryn Young 7-6, 6-0 at the third spot. Raineir Matias took his match to the third set, but ultimately fell 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 at the sixth position.
UCR continues Big West play with a noon match at UC Santa Barbara on Sunday, March 1.
