Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team defeated Portland 5-2 on Thursday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Complex in a non-conference matchup. Winning at the doubles and singles spot, senior Erynne Oki won her 100th and 101st career matches.
The Highlanders (5-8) swept the doubles point as Oki and Roxanne Plata won 8-5 at the top spot, Donna McCullough and Angelique Corpuz got a 8-2 victory in the middle, and Nadia Sakhakorn and Ayana Simmons picked up a 8-3 win at the third spot.
UCR continued their winning ways by claiming four of the six singles matches. Oki defeated Megan Sporndli 6-2, 6-1 at the top singles spot, while Donna McCullough won 6-3, 6-2 at the second position. Corpuz won her fourth straight match with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 position, while Plata rounded out the squad with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
The Highlanders take a break for finals and return to the courts on March 26 for a neutral match with Utah State in Las Vegas, VN
