Men's Tennis Drops Close 4-3 Match To Portland

The UC Riverside Men's Tennis Team had its fifth win of the season in its crosshairs Saturday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Complex, but close losses at Nos. 4 through 6 Singles gave the 4-3 win to visiting Portland.
The Highlanders won the doubles point as Quoc Doan and Felix Macherez teamed up at No. 1 Doubles for an 8-4 win and the No. 2 Doubles team of Yi Chai and John Park and the No. 3 Doubles Team of Mike Conroy and Raineir Matias both picked up identical 9-8 wins.
Macharez won his match at No. 1 Singles, 6-3, 6-3, and Doan dispatched with his No. 3 Singles opponent, 7-6, 6-4. Park fell at No. 2 Singles 6-3, 6-3 leaving it up to the Nos. 3 through 6 slots to pick up the win. But Austin Andres fell at No. 4 Singles 6-3, 7-6, Matias dropped his No. 5 Singles match 6-3, 7-6 and Conroy lost at No. 6 Singles, 7-6, 7-6.
The Highlanders next three matches are all in the Keystone State of Pennsylvania as they travel to Penn on March 24, Temple on March 27 and Villanova on March 28.
