Women's Tennis Loses Tough 4-3 Match to UC Davis

Davis, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team (4-8, 0-5) was looking to pick up their first conference win of the year on Sunday morning against UC Davis, but lost a tough 4-3 decision to the Aggies.

The Highlanders lost two of the three doubles matches and thus lost the point. Donna McCullough and Angelique Corpuz defeated their opponents 8-7 (5) at the second position, while the duo of Erynne Oki and Roxanne Plata fell in extra sets 9-8 (3) at the top doubles spot.

UCR and UCD split the singles matches, giving the Aggies the 4-3 win. Oki and McCullough both took home wins for the Highlanders at the one and two positions, while Corpuz remained undefeated in singles play over the weekend with her 6-1, 6-3 victory at the fourth singles spot.

The Highlanders return home for a 2:00 pm non-conference match with Portland on Wednesday, March 11 at the SRC Tennis Complex.
