Men's Tennis Downed by UC Irvine 6-1 in Regular Season Finale

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team hosted Big West foe UC Irvine in their final regular season match of the year on Saturday at the SRC Tennis Complex, but fell to the Anteaters 6-1.
The Highlanders (5-17, 0-5) fell short in the doubles point and needed to win four of the six singles matches to earn the victory, but UCR could only pick up one point as freshman Austin Andres defeated Stephen Stege 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 at the No. 3 spot.
Michael Conroy's match at the sixth position went into the third set, and John Park's match at the No. 2 singles spot was closely contested, but neither went in favor of the Highlanders as they suffered the 6-1 defeat.
UCR moves on to the Big West Conference Championships on Friday-Sunday April 17-19 in Indian Wells.
