UCR Men's Tennis Drops Season-Opening Match 6-1 at San Diego

San Diego, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team dropped its season-opening match 6-1 at the University of San Diego on Wednesday afternoon at the USD West Tennis Courts.
The Torreros swept the doubles point to open match play and won five of the six singles matches. Sophomore Felix Macherez (pictured) earned the Highlanders lone point at No. 3 singles, defeating Charl Wolmarans 7-5, 4-1 (retired).
The Highlanders open their home season with two matches on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the SRC Tennis Complex. UCR squares off against Vanguard at 9:00 am followed by a 2:30 pm match against RCC.
