Men's Tennis Defeats Vanguard 5-2 And RCC 7-0 In Doubleheader Action

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team picked up their first wins of the season on Saturday after a 5-2 defeat of Vanguard followed by a 7-0 sweep of Riverside Community College at the SRC Tennis Complex.
Against Vanguard, the Highlanders lost the doubles point after dropping matches at the No. 1 and 2 spots, but a solid effort in singles play earned UCR the victory as they won five of the six matches.
Later in the day, the Highlanders swept RCC 7-0 as they won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches, with all the singles matches going just two sets.
UC Riverside returns to the courts for three matches next weekend as they travel to Las Vegas beginning with a Friday, Feb. 5 meeting against Southern Mississippi at 9:00 am.
