Highlanders Open Big West Play Friday Against UC Irvine At 2PM

Game Notes - UC Riverside vs. UC Irvine
The UC Riverside women’s basketball team opens Big West Conference play on Friday, December 31 by hosting UC Irvine at 2pm PST at the Student Recreation Center.
Fans who are unable to attend the game may follow all of the action as John Ramey brings the call from courtside to gohighlanders.com. Fans may also follow the game via LiveStats.
The Highlanders have lost the last three straight games, but their 6-5 record ties the 2006-07 squad for the best start in the Division I history of the program.
The Anteaters are 8-4 and have won eight of their last nine games. Mikah Maly-Karros is averaging 18.9 points per game and 10.1 rebounds a game, while Jade Smith-Williams averages 13.6 ppg.
Alyssa Morris and Tre’Shonti Nottingham lead the Highlanders offensive attack averaging 11.1 and 10.1 points per game respectively.
The 2010 Big West Tournament Champions owns the all-time series record against UCI 27-12, including an eight game winning streak. The Highlanders last loss came on February 4, 2006 in a 65-63 victory for Irvine.
