Game Notes - UC Riveride vs. UC Davis
The UC Riverside women’s basketball team meets up with UC Davis on Saturday, Feb. 27 for an important Big West Conference game at 5:00 pm at the Student Recreation Center.
Fans not able to make it to the gym may follow the game live via live stats or listen to the Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal Hasan, as he calls the game beginning at 4:55 pm right here on gohighlanders.com.
If the Highlanders defeat the Aggies, they would move into either sole possession of first place or a tie for the top spot in the standings depending on other outcomes in conference play. UCD is currently half a game ahead of both UCR and Cal Poly in the standings.
Head Coach John Margaritis would also earn his 100th victory at UCR, as he currently tallies 99 heading into Saturday’s game.
The Aggies won the first meeting of the year between these teams, 54-50, on Jan. 28, and since then, they have gone 4-2 including winning the last three straight. Paige Mintun leads three players in double-figure scoring with 11.8 ppg.
The Highlanders have won 10 of their last 12 games including two four-game winning streaks. Alyssa Morris leads four players in double-figure scoring with 13.3 ppg and a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game.
On Saturday, UCR will also celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Night, and all fans wearing pink will be admitted to the game free of charge.
