Women's Tennis Sweeps CSU Bakersfield 7-0

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team (2-4) swept CSU Bakersfield 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts, winning all six of their singles matches and all three of the doubles contests.

The Highlander duo of Roxanne Plata and Angelique Corpuz (both pictured) started things off at the No. 1 doubles spot with an 8-4 win over Dimas/Mannix—their first dual match win of the season.

Donna McCullough and Nadia Sakhakorn defeated Diamanti/Thorneycroft 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, and Taylor Raney and Natalie McKay rounded out the doubles sweep with their 8-1 victory at the third position.

In singles matches, each of UCR's matches went two sets as Nos. 1-6 defeated their opponents—the first sweep for the Highlanders in the 2010 season.

UC Riverside returns to the courts on Sunday, Feb. 28 with an 11:00 am match against Pacific in Big West Conference play.
