Men's Tennis Defeated 5-2 By No. 48 Ranked UC Irvine

Irvine, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team (3-7, 0-2) returned to Big West Conference action on Friday evening with a 5-2 loss at No. 48 ranked UC Irvine.
The Highlanders duo of Mike Conroy (pictured) and Quoc Doan won their doubles match at No. 2, but the Anteaters picked up wins at Nos. 1 and 3 for the first point of the match.
Needing to win four of six singles matches for the victory, UCR was only able to win two of them, as Conroy at No. 4 and Austin Andres at the third spot defeated their opponents.
"It was a hard-fought battle, and we left everything on the court," head coach York Strother commented afterwards.
UC Riverside finishes out the week with a non-conference match against Montana State at noon on Sunday, Mar. 14 at the SRC Tennis Complex in Riverside.
