Montana State Defeats Men's Tennis 4-3 In Close Contest

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside men's tennis team fell to Montana State 4-3 in a close contest on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at the SRC Tennis Complex.

UCR picked up a win in the doubles matches as the duo of Mike Conroy and Quoc Doan won their second consecutive match this week, defeating Smith/Turzanski 8-2 at the No. 2 position. However, the Highlanders did not win the doubles point as the Bobcats won their matches at the first and third position.

Needing to win four singles matches to earn the win, UCR was just shy as they won three of the matches. John Park at No. 2 defeated his opponent 7-6, 6-4 while Austin Andres at No. 3 won 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, and Ryan Stabury at the sixth position won easily at 6-1, 6-0.

UC Riverside has a week off for finals and returns to the courts on Monday, Mar. 22 for a 1:00 pm match at Sacramento State.
