Spring Break Opens With An 8-1 Win Over UCSC For Women's Tennis

Santa Cruz, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team opened up spring break on Wednesday afternoon with an 8-1 win over host UC Santa Cruz.
The Highlanders began the day by winning two of the three doubles matches. Donna McCullough and Nadia Sakhakorn (pictured) defeated Rowe/Malone 8-0 at No. 2 for the first UCR point, while Taylor Raney and Natalie McKay won 8-1 at No. 3 over Shinto/Nichol.
In singles competition, UC Riverside was perfect as all six matches went in favor of the blue and gold. Sakhakorn, Raney, and McCullough at Nos. 1-3 respectively all took their matches into a third set, but each was able grab the victory.
The Highlanders continue their road trip with a 2:00 pm match on Thursday at San Jose State.
