Fullerton, CA - The UC Riverside softball team (19-20, 4-2) took the series from Cal State Fullerton on Sunday afternoon with a 4-1 victory in the rubber match after splitting a doubleheader on Saturday at Anderson Field.

With this victory, she moves into sole possession of first place on the UCR Division I single-season charts by passing Stephanie Marshall with 13 wins recorded during in the 2006 season.
The Highlanders 4-2 record in Big West competition is their best-ever start in the Division I era. The team's series win against CSF is also the first in their nine-year DI history.
UC Riverside took an early 2-0 lead after two single runs in both the first and second innings. Kameryn Hebenton scored on a wild pitch in the first, and Tiana Towns drove in Brooke Hebenton with an RBI double in the second.
The Highlanders added two insurance runs in the fourth inning on two hits and two CSF errors. Brittany Keeney took her base after getting hit by a pitch to lead off the frame.
Alexis Pickett then singled to the pitcher and advanced to second base on an error, which allowed Keeney to round the bases and score. After an out that advanced Pickett 60 feet, Towns' RBI single to left field gave UCR a 4-0 advantage.
The Titans (9-29, 4-2) countered with a solo run in their respective fourth inning to get within three, 4-1, but it was the only run they would score all afternoon as Alvidrez allowed just one additional baserunner in the last three innings.
Towns went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead the Highlanders offensively on Sunday. Three other players recorded a hit each while four scored a single run for UCR.
