Sakhakorn Earns Lone Point For Highlanders In 6-1 Loss At UCSB

Santa Barbara, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team played its second match in as many days on Sunday, but fell 6-1 at UC Santa Barbara in Big West Conference action.

The Highlanders duo of Nadia Sakhakorn (pictured) and Donna McCullough defeated their opponent at No. 2 doubles, but the Gauchos still claimed the early point with victories at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles.

In singles play, Sakhakorn defeated Sofia Novak 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1, but it was the only point UCR would earn as UCSB won its matches at Nos. 2-6 to stake the 6-1 victory.

The Highlanders have one regular season match on their docket as they host Cal State Fullerton at the SRC Tennis Complex on Wednesday, Apr. 21 at 2:00 pm.
