Game Notes - UC Riverside vs. Cal State Northridge
The UC Riverside women’s basketball team snapped its five-game losing skid and evened out its record at 7-7 overall and 1-1 in league play with a 73-61 victory at Cal State Fullerton last Saturday. The Highlanders look to move above .500 as they host Cal State Northridge on Thursday, January 13 at the Student Recreation Center at 7pm PST.
Fans who are unable to attend the game may follow all of the action as the Voice of the Highlanders, Ghizal Hasan, brings the call from courtside to gohighlanders.com. Fans may also follow the game via LiveStats.
Fans will see familiar faces on the Matadors bench as former UCR assistant coach Jason Flowers took over the helm of the CSUN program over the summer, and former assistant Lindsey Flowers joined him on staff.
The Matadors enter Thursday’s game with a 1-14 record with their lone win coming in a 74-68 overtime victory at Pacific on December 31. Jasmine Ervine paces the squad with 12.8 points per game and 6.7 boards a game, while Violet Alama is second with 12.1 and 6.1 respectively.
The Highlanders own the series record against CSUN 29-22, including a seven game winning streak. Alyssa Morris leads UCR averaging 11.6 points a game and 5.4 rebounds a game while Tre'Shonti Nottingham is averaging 10.8 points per game.
