#32 Arizona Defeats UC Riverside Men's Tennis 7-0

Tucson, AZ - The UC Riverside men's tennis team faced off against No. 32 ranked Arizona on Saturday morning at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center, but got swept 7-0 by the Wildcats.
In doubles action, UCR's duo of Austin Andres and Raineir Matias won their match at No. 3 over Malo/Chen 8-6. After a loss at No. 1, the Highlanders almost pulled off the doubles point victory but fell 9-8 (4) at No. 2.
In singles play, Arizona took control of the match with a sweep to complete the 7-0 win.
"We played absolutely stellar doubles," Head Coach York Strother stated. "We barely missed the tie breaker to win the doubles point at No. 2."
The Highlanders next hit the courts for their home opener on Saturday, January 29 with a double header against Vanguard (9 am) and Riverside City College (2:30 pm) at the SRC Tennis Courts in Riverside.
