UCR Women's Tennis Drops Season Opener 6-1 At #57 San Diego State

San Diego, CA - The UC Riverside women's tennis team opened the 2011 spring season on Saturday morning with a 6-1 loss at #57 ranked San Diego State.
The Aztecs swept the doubles matches to secure the first point of the match, and proceeded to win five of the six singles matches for the 6-1 win.
UCR senior Nadia Sakhakorn picked up the lone Highlanders point as she won her match at No. 3 singles 6-2, 3-6 (10-8) over Roxanne Ellison.
"The team played pretty well for the first match, but SDSU was just too strong," Head Coach Mark Henry stated.
The Highlanders next hit the courts to host Cal State Los Angeles in the home opener on Friday, Feb. 4 at the SRC Tennis Courts in Riverside.
