The UC Riverside women’s basketball team is looking for its first win of the 2011-12 season as they travel to UNLV on Wednesday, November 16 for a 7:00 pm PST tip in Las Vegas, NV.

The Highlanders bring an 0-2 record into the game with losses at Arizona State and Northern Arizona to open the season. Tre’Shonti Nottingham leads the team offensively averaging 15.5 points per game, while Natasha Hadley and Jessica Ogunnorin are averaging 10.5 apiece.

UNLV is 2-0 on the young season, having defeated Butler, 62-39, and Iowa, 69-59. Kelli Thompson paces them offensively with 21.0 points per game, with Sandrine Nzeukou adding 17.0 ppg.

UNLV owns the all-time record against the Highlanders, 2-1. The Rebels won the last meeting between the teams, a 71-61 contest on December 28, 2008. The Highlanders won the previous meeting 61-49 on December 7, 2007, with UNLV winning a 1975 match up 72-37.
